About Me

Had my TD since 1996, It was first registered in June 1953. I have toured in France and been to The Dordogne twice and Brittany several times.

At present starting to renovate the old girl. Bought an old engine and are overhauling it. Rebore, block skim, crank regrind, new pistons, mains, bigend bearings, new timing chain, flywheel skimmed and full gasket kit all for £637 so off to a good start. Respray and retrim to follow.

Hopefully France and Spain for the summer.

About Me

First MG was a rusted out 1971 MGB, long gone.  Second is a 1980 MGB, we still own,  purchased from the original owner in 1997.  This 1953 TD was purchased in 2000.  What started out as a quick repaint in 2009 ended up a full restoration completed in 2012.

About Me

I am in San Leandro, California and have recently aquired this 52 TD.  I am going to try to "refresh" the car a bit.  Sent the carbs off for rebuild, about to do the brakes etc.  Once the carbs come back we will determine what the condition of the engine is; compression test comes up at 145 psi in each cylinder with little variance.  Leaks quite a bit of oil.  Might still require rebuild.

Regards,

Bruce Walendy

About Me

I recently acquired a 1953 MG TD Mark II.  It was taken apart to be painted in 1997 and then sat in the body shop until I acquired.  It came home on trailer with serveral boxes of parts.  A lot of little work and little parts needed.  A great project for this summer and fall.  And winter and spring.

This is my second MG.  I had a MG TF 1500 I purchased for my wife about 12 years ago.
